A Practice of Sharing is the research project I have been developing within the Arte por Venir grant program of the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation. It arises from the desire to explore the potential of gathering around food as a tool for memory, collective work, and the rewriting of the histories of those Afro-descendant people who were not given the opportunity to tell their own stories. It takes material form in a deck of cards currently under construction, which serves as a tool for collective work.

This deck is both an archive and an oracle that brings to the table the importance of the ingredients that accompany us and the stories we share. On each card, I have added a year, a place, a flavor, and an element. It can be used for research and for divination. Also for prescribing food-medicine. One idea that has guided the entire process is that of returning to the root (and to the seed). The images that appear are cyanotypes, and the design is done in collaboration with Rubén H. Bermúdez.

The project is nourished by encounters with different communities. In May 2026, I held two sessions of Being Like the Okok That Has Slept in collaboration with Conciencia Afro (Madrid) and with Biznegra (Almería). In August of the same year, I held another session in Keelung (Taiwan) with CirCurate.

On an exhibition level, the project is presented in various installations where the cyanotypes inhabit the spaces in textile format, proposing new recipes. In June 2026, "Was I really hungry or was it something else?" was inaugurated at the Climate Biennial, and in October 2026, "A Banquet for the Spanish Colonizers" will be inaugurated at the Keelung Museum of Art.
